Bossard has married Aritan. The couple has joined forces and are claiming the respective businesses. Both are advocates conservation of sustainable, renewable seafood resources. Otolith is an independent wholesale distributor of seafood founded by a woman in Philadelphia in 2007 by a now-mother of two children, Bella aged 3 and Andre one year old. Otolith's name is a fond memory of Bossard's deep understanding of the biology of fish and her husband's vast connections to the seafood business. They are often apart for five months at a stretch while they strive to achieve sustainable and financial goals that show their determination to their independence no matter where they reside. Bossard, her son Andre and daughter Isabella will be returning home to Southeast Alaska every summer as deckhands in the salmon season. Hooks and lines are employed to capture their salmon after which they join Aritan to sell to local processors for a period of two months. After that, they expand their direct seafood product market via Otolith Sustainable Seafood. Amanda Bossard, Anchor/MMJ of News 12 Brooklyn and News 12 Bronx has been working on these stations since November of 2015. She's passionate about sharing the stories of people and places she is a part of.
